Midnight Stories est le fruit de la collaboration de Opianoise, chanteuse et compositrice, Simon Harel guitariste et le producteur Lavender. Il couronne la collaboration commencée en 2021 avec Simon pour le single “Placebo Love”.

Opianoise chante pour stabiliser ses états émotionnels et faire vivre ses fantasmes et faux souvenirs d’une adolescence idéalisée. Une autre réalité moins amère et mystérieuse bercée dans un décor de David Lynch ou Gregg Araki à l’atmosphère nocturne et rêveuse aux frontières du cauchemar.

Midnight stories; les histoires de Minuit, elle les raconte au moment où la nuit est à son milieu. Un équilibre entre le jour passé et la nuit qui s'achève pour donner naissance à un jour futur. C’est à cette image que Opianoise navigue dans ses inspirations rétro et futuriste, du post punk de Joy Division et Sonic Youth, du shoegaze des Cocteau Twins et de Slowdive, du rock progressif des Radiohead appuyés par les guitares de Simon et de la post internet music de Oneohtrix Point Never et A.G Cook. Ces mélanges de voix calmes et lointaines, de guitares overdrivées planent au dessus des synthés spacieux et des rythmes post-trap de Lavender qui apporte sa touche de vapor wave et hyperpop.

Midnight Stories, avec ses 4 morceaux-histoires est une hymne aux relations et aux états émotionnels difficiles teinté d’une lueur d’espoir. Comme les premiers rayons de soleil qui percent la nuit devenue trop menaçante et incertaine.

Midnight Stories is born out of the collaboration between French singer and composer Opianoise, Guitarist Simon Harel and producer Lavender. It’s the confirmation of the collaboration started in 2021 with Simon with the single “Placebo Love”.

Opianoise sings to stabilize her emotional states and to give life to her fantasies and her teenage fakes memories. She seeks for a less bitter and mysterious reality, navigating in a set that would be made by David Lynch or Gregg Araki. A dreamy and nocturnal place at the border of a nightmare.

She tells her Midnight Stories at dawn. When the past day and the next one are both there. It’s with this image that Opianoise navigates into her retro and futuristic inspirations; the Joy Division and Sonic Youth post-punk, the Slowdive and Cocteau Twins shoegaze, the progressive rock of Radiohead that Simon enlight with his guitars, and the post internet music of OPN and A.G Cook. The mix of here calm and faraway singings with Simon’s overdrived guitars fly over the spacious synth and post-trap rhythms of Lavender that adds a vapor-wave and hyper pop flavor.

Midnight Stories is an anthem dedicated to difficult relationships and emotional states tinted with a glow of hope. Like the first rays of light piercing through a night that became too uncertain and threatening
